
Beatrice
Beatrice, or Bea for short, is the main character for my upcoming video game Haze. When creating her design, I wanted to keep in mind the fantasy setting and magical world she is a part of, while also keeping her grounded in reality. I wanted to have a slight nod to a big inspiration for the game, Alice in Wonderland, which is seen in the light blue color of her design!

I also wanted to make sure Bea stood out from the rest of the characters in the game, as they are all very fantastical and whimsical, but I still wanted to make sure Bea was clearly the main character!
Hair Concepts
Since Bea is an Afro-Latina character, it was very important to me that her natural hair really shine through in her design. Below are the 6 main designs I came up with.

Outfit Concepts
After her hair and mask, I redesigned Bea's outfit, featuring a small caplet that enhances her silloutee and complements her mask, moving away from the original Alice in Wonderland - inspired dress.

Mask Concept
After finalizing Bea's hair, I redesigned her face and mask for a cohesive look, deciding to reveal her face in the game instead of always keeping it hidden.
